We are currently seeking a Design Associate to join us in our Carmel studio. Candidates should have at least three years of professional experience in landscape architecture, architecture, or related design fields. Dual degree holders in landscape architecture and another field are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
Reports to and works closely with the Nursery Manager
Coordinates internally with Rana’s multiple profit centers, including Landscape Architecture and Restoration Landscape Services project managers
Handles day to day customer needs including providing customer quotes, taking customer orders, coordinating order logistics, sourcing and monitoring order fulfillment via phone and email
Ensures that customers are aware of and fully utilizing all of Rana’s capabilities including pre-order, contract growing, horticultural consulting, etc.
Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems and developing solutions
Maintains high level of customer satisfaction with order process and fulfillment
Responsible for identifying vendors and maintaining satisfactory relationships
Leverages solution-focused sales tools and processes to maximize growth with assigned accounts, including tracking sales leads, orders, troubleshooting, and sales numbers
Maintains appropriate professional and technical knowledge
Coordinates orders & shipments with the Nursery Manager, preparing orders to be pulled for projects, arranging for plant purchases from other wholesalers
Coordinates with shipping company/purchaser/etc.
Updates the Inventory & Availability List for publication, based on nursery updates
Supports Marketing & Outreach
Supports company events
Other duties as assigned
Responsibilities
Excellent sales skills and knowledge
Comprehensive knowledge of Nursery trade, including wholesale growers, landscapers, distributors with an emphasis on the grower channel
Familiarity with landscape plant stock, knowledge of California natives!, Mediterranean and drought-tolerant plants
Strong customer service orientation
Ability to learn quickly
Ability to work well under deadlines, with strong organizational and time management skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially by phone and email
Efficient use of Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook and other standard office communication software tools
Must live in the Central Coast area and work in the office at Mid-Valley Carmel
Valid driver's license and ability to meet company criteria for insurability
Occasional regional travel required
Compensation
$16.00-$24.00 per hour
